Introductions are in order , A little about me.

This being my first true post, let me introduce myself , My name is Jason Mullen , I am 32 years old born and raised for the most part in Kitchener, On. I have two children Candice and Jordon, to a wife I am separated from for almost 4 years now. I started my web site http://mycanada.hopto.org to try and help people and prove to my children who are still pretty young that with a little effort and a little persevering ,people can make a difference. I care very deeply about society, politics and people in general . I believe that you treat others as you want to be treated. Swallowing your pride sometimes is the best answer, Always try and be the best you can be. Don't beat yourself up if you make mistakes along the way , sometimes it's part of the learning process , that being said (learn from your mistakes). I also believe all of the above is sometimes easier said than done , and advice is often one of those pills that is easier to give than receive like recommending Buckley's to someone.

A little of my background.

I was in several movies and TV show throughout high school as an extra and bit parts. always looking slightly older than the next guy. In the heat of the night , M butterfly , Taufle spitz , TC 2000 , ENG and Night heat.

I am a KCI kid , I made it to grade 11 , then I went off to Toronto school of business where I took computer electronics and electronic components. I then went to Conestoga college and took intro to Unix and Visual basic. Then I helped to open a computer store Computer guyz , ran the tech support dept for several years , leaving there to open Jays repairs and upgrades. which I ran right out of my grandmothers basement. Then me and a friend decided to expand and opened Microwize Systems.

When I was 17 I came down with a disease called Eurythromelalgia a genetic disease that has no cure and not allot is known about it. So any chance at a normal job is pretty much out of the question as, well , the feet is not the best thing for any job to have wrong with you , another reason why I originally started Microwize.
anyways that's the bulk of my story ........

My opinion ...

A human is made up of many components one must analyze before fully comprehending the complexity of a person, a kind of inner map. For instance; you often hear the eyes are the windows of ones soul. If the soul exists and we are all not just a fluke of nature on this large rock floating around in the vast universe, then one might agree with this theory. Never the less with all our Nerve endings , veins and arteries all traveling through the human body , all with purpose, all with 1 goal , to make us live , it’s hard not to question some of the teachings that have been pounded into our heads . How can emotional and psychological situations affect us all so physically if my prior statement is or is not debatable? When our “hearts” get “broken” we cry. A human emotion linked to a physical activity. A physiological reaction to a traumatic or frustrating situation one can not control. How is this possible? If 90% of our bodies control themselves , as in these examples , breath , cough ,wink or digestion why does our brain allow us to respond emotionally to those situations, when you might agree it is a time consuming , and needless activity that really does not accomplish anything. Are such strong emotions a glimpse of the inner workings of ones soul? Where is the soul? Is it part of our brains? Why can we not control our emotions?
Let’s analyze, Shall we….
In T.V or through religion you are often told that the soul is part of our hearts or in that vicinity, often you heard young children in television shows say , “I don’t feel so good” when they had committed a morally questionable act , such as stealing or lying. Does this mean our souls are in our hearts? When we fall in love often our hearts do race when that person is around. Our palms get sweaty, a physiological reaction due to our hearts racing, and an increase in pheromones being released bringing us back to my earlier statements about our bodies being a map a complex inner working of reactions and switches communication to and from every part of the body, the question is, what allows us to make the choices and is their another component involved. In religion one is told that A holy spirit resides along with your soul guiding us through the paths of good and evil , that one can actually feel this spirit telling us what is right and what is wrong. Mormons are a good example of this, they believe that this holy spirit can from time to time leave a human when this person is not listening by not making the right choices or making immoral decisions. If this is true, you could argue, how is it we learn? , Why do we ever make wrong decisions? Why do people make so many wrong choices a second time?
One who is religious would argue this is Satan acting or the Devil. The son of God cast out of heaven on an earthly mission to turn us against God, to make us corrupt, a bet Satan and God made to test us. In this theory religions tell us to repent before Jesus makes his triumphant return to earth for his second reign on earth as king. I have often questioned religion for many reasons, for instance I have a hard time accepting --- anything--- that says “Don’t question it”. This is a human response, a sort of instinct to protect itself from deception and corruption in this world of crooks, liars and government all saying believe us. Would a higher power not understand this is the world we live in? It’s impossible to not have that question in the back of our minds. Agreeing, theirs no harm or wrong in any of the principles of the Bible, Just the tales.
Which brings us to the 10 commandments? Which are as written in Exodes chapter 20 of the Kings James Version of the Holy Bible , I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. (1)Thou shalt have no other gods before me.(2)Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath (3)Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; (4)Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: (5).Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.(6) Thou shalt not kill. (7)Thou shalt not commit adultery.(8) Thou shalt not steal.(9) Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. (10)Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house; thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbor's.
Reading this selection tells us what? To be as good as we possibly can. Do we as humans need this mythological, spiritual being to try and acquire or drive us to be wholesome people? This is one question only you can answer.
Regardless of your beliefs this selection has made many good people throughout time, it also is the basis of law today, don’t steal, don’t kill and don’t purge yourself in court, etc. When we acquire a new lawyer, Judge, cop or are called into court we swear on a Bible. This to me is absurd, what if you don’t believe in the fabric of that material? I’m sure throughout time their have been many people who are good people, but did not believe in the bible. Does this mean they do not have a soul? The Holy Spirit if you believe in it? Why would God not help someone who still tries yet does not go to a building and prey? I believe we should all treat each other as we would want to be treated. (Love your neighbor as yourself) Forgive and forget (sometimes easier said than done). Help people you know need help. Be there for a complete stranger when they need it. And remain open minded to new ideas, never stop learning, never stop trying.
I have studied many religions and attended for short times on my hunt for a religion that I feel most comfortable with and can relate to. Let’s see, I actually married Baptized Jehovah whiteness and attended for 2 years. I was a baptized Mormon and attended meetings for 6 years. My foster parents were Baptists, and a group home I was in for two years was Lutheran. This has been a confusing journey. Not one religion respects the other. In fact they are quite open with negative comments about the other. Religion has been the basis for wars, poverty and hate for centuries. How can something that is supposed to help, set an example for us to live by, hinder time and time again. Example the Taliban. My mother in law was a fanatic, actually telling my children that because I smoked I was going to die. That if they did not go to the Kingdom Hall that they were going to loose their lives in the new system. They were 5 and 7 and 8. Is this really what God, Jehovah actually teaches. Go to this building Prey or Die? In the Mormon religion you must give 10% of your income or you will go to hell? This might be why the Mormon religion has more beautiful buildings and is a very fast growing religion. Is this what you need to do to get the holy spirit , in fact , you are not even supposed to partake of the sacrament if you do not pay your tithing properly .Is this a loving God ? If you have $10 you are to give $1, this does not make sense to me. And they added “The Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ” In which tells of their prophet Joseph Smith who talked to God and Jesus, telling us to not drink Caffeine or alcohol at all. If we did we were ruining our bodies our temples which holds the Holy Spirit. It’s hard to believe in something that has such corruption in it. I think the only true religion is in your heart.
Where emotions, Christianity and logic collide what is the point that common sense takes over in society. Let’s look at some examples that really destroy the very fabric of what’s being taught to us from young children with open minds. For instance you have Priests and ministers in one sentence teaching our children to respect your elders, then molesting them. In one breath teaching them to love thy neighbor as thyself yet they support the wars in Iraq and donate your tithing that is supposed to be for the religion. Does the Bible also not say to “Teach by example, to turn the other cheek”? Had God actually some how been communicating with Prophets, Priests or Bishops would he not refer to his own examples that are supposedly quite clearly set fourth in his own book, that these are immoral, unforgivable acts against humanity ? Would the Holy Spirit not tell them this is wrong? This is not a once or twice occurrence either, all you have to do is watch the news. And if this fairy tale is true has Satan not proved we can not make it without his leadership or rule? How much longer can we go on as humans with this kind of corruption all around us before we implode?
I know we can make it, all it takes is a little less me and a little more self sacrifice. When someone needs help in life, help them. Always try to consider the other person before you consider yourself. This society has developed into a very selfish and cold place to live. Everyone is out for number one when all it takes is a little empathy, compassion and respect, here lays the key ingredients to a successful society and the very heart of the problem, most situations teach us people just don’t have any. When people take over planes start flying into buildings, poisoning our mail and molesting our children not to mention all the murders, prostitution and aids in the world you have to question would a loving God allow this to happen? No we are in the here and now and we need to take control of our own selves regardless if this all seeing all powerful being exists. We are responsible for how we live and have no one to blame but the person staring back in the mirror.
I guess the point I’m trying to make is thousands of years ago the world was much as it is today. Imagine living in a time when if someone wanted your house they just marched in with 10 soldiers and took it, or forced you to pay taxes or killed you or, worse yet, pillaged and raped your children. At that time, who could you call with no cops, no phones just you and them, no law only a corrupt king or ruler. Now here is my belief having said all this, People saw this, people lived through it , having traveled all over, made up a story about a man named Jesus being the son of God knowing their actually was a man with this name. This man may or may not look as we have seen him portrayed. I’m sure he was a good man with a good heart. He would have tried to teach the children good behaviors, and respected his parents. As far as Noah, The apostles and other pieces of the Bible, at that time the earth was relatively young and may have just been a weather phenomenon.
Sometimes it takes a piece of this and a piece of that to find the truth, keep an open mind and you will find the answers you’re searching for.
As we know the Bible has been reproduced for centuries, a way of making it to suite religious needs, and that’s the problem, people need to clean their own back yard before they try to clean others. If a church is to be a way of life then the teachings need to be accurate and truthful and I believe some of the teachings are false and some of the religions are simply lying all together. The principles are correct, be a good person, love thy neighbor as thyself, do on to others as you would have them do on to you, don’t steal don’t lie and don’t cheat, don’t we as parents have a moral obligation to try and instill these values in our children without cramming a religion that a child is not ready or may grow up to disrespect? That’s our job as parents is it not, to instill guide lines for society and life, I’m not saying the principles are wrong in the Bible, just the religious aspect and the leadership there in.
Prayer is what, talking to whom, ourselves? How about apologizing to the person you gave the middle finger to in the parking lot? Maybe it’s time to start picking your garbage up and cleaning our streets littered with trash?
Make our schools and leaders responsible for selling us toxic harmful products and by this I mean government funded tobacco, fuel and chemicals that have long plagued our society. They take billions and give back millions to help the cause and we are too stupid to realize, we simply think “wow he sounds like a good leader, giving so much back to fix the problem” mean while they just took 80 million away from education and made 4 billion off cigarette taxes and 8 billion off of fuel taxes. Why should they even be allowed to tax something that belonged to us to begin with? What right should any person or agency have to tax something that comes from the earth? Especially something that in one breath they say is harmful and in the next breath they say “but give us 30 percent of the profits!” This just seems ludicrous when really; we have had no choice but to use these destructive products. We always had an inkling that they were not that safe, however what choice did or do we have still today. With fewer and fewer jobs and cities spreading out, transportation and deadlines play a role in my opinion of at least 40% of fuel exhausts. My figures may be off but my point should be quite clear, they have taxed us to death in fuel, why should they now tax us to death trying to fix the problem that they created. We are willing to help fix the problem or use an alternative if one is readily available, but it’s long awaited some government accountability. They want to fix a problem , when police pull over a car , are they worried about the fact that he has a gram of weed or the fact that there is a whole in the ozone layer above the car from the exhaust spewing out of the tale pipe hanging. Give tickets to door knobs parked at the corner store for running their cars 20 min while their daughters are inside trying to pick a chocolate bar. They don’t take this seriously enough and I believe and I’m sure you would agree we have a real problem on our hands. We are all in it together. The governments combined have more that enough resources to fix and enforce laws that will allow us to breath for years to come. Instead of books being replaced time and time again, make them available electronically. Make sure vehicles adhere to stringent fuel safety and efficiency laws. And most importantly, enforce it! Far too many times a new law comes along that makes so much sense, and yet it is never enforced. The questioned rose is, why? When the government knows the seriousness and consequences of the situation and their actions are their going to let acts that have grave consequences to the environment and the future of the earth simply continue if it has been proven they have the resources to fix it? I’m sure you would agree our children deserve a solid future and clean air to breathe?
I am as guilty as the next person; I am rude at times when I’m at the drive though. I’m ignorant when someone is not as friendly as they should be at the grocery store and people are packed in like tuna in a can. I’m just bold enough to write this about it and say “I take a pledge to change.” I just would like to see more customer service when we pay thousands of dollars to phone and cable companies, grocery stores and coffee shops; they make millions, and keep getting more and more expensive. I often feel guilty, treating a complete stranger like shit when all they are trying to do is make a living. I guess what I’m trying to say is few more please and thank you never hurt. Chances are, it will be contagious, like a plague of niceness.
People caring about how the other feels.
Empathy is the answer it's humans next step , Evolution .

But this is just my opinion ....
